Origin: Denmark A set of beautiful rosewood dining chairs designed by the Danish designer Henning Kjærnulf in between the years 1960-1969. The chairs were produced by the Danish furniture manufacturers Vejle Stole. Henning Kjærnulf was part of the mid-20th century Danish design movement, which flourished alongside figures like Hans J. Wegner, Børge Mogensen, and Arne Vodder. Henning was active between the 1950s and the 1970s. Rosewood is an exclusive hardwood known by its botanical name as ‘Dalbergia nigra’. Rosewood is distinguished by it’s beautiful, deeply pronounced grain and is dark brown with red, purple and black tones in its wood. Rosewood was banned for export in 1968 due to the shovelling of rain forests in the Amazon, by 1974 all European furniture manufacturers had phased out the production of rosewood
